As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of laboratory staff within a large department or several related departments, contributing to the establishment of departmental strategy, and driving the achievement of objectives for the annual success of lab operations.
What You ll be Doing:
Managing and directing the daily activities of assigned laboratory work group(s) through appropriate delegation, technical skills training, and work supervision.
Screening and assigning workload, planning, prioritizing, and assigning tasks and projects.
Partnering with leadership to develop performance standards.
Hiring, training, performance management, and development of staff.
Identifying and driving opportunities for cost savings and driving revenue.
Serving as an escalation point to drive resolution of challenges in operations, quality, safety, supply chain efficiencies across multiple departments.
Ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, collaborating with QA and EHS to ensure enhancements are implemented to support operational capacity.
Driving CAPA closure and resolution, quality compliance and metrics, oversight of quality incidents and resolution, root cause analysis and improvements.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BSc in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology or cytotechnology.
8 years experience in a regulated environment.
5 years line management experience.
Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within one department or multiple related departments.
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:
Strong technical understanding of operations and methods.
Strong knowledge of study set up and cross functional/system dependencies.
In-depth knowledge of clinical testing procedures and applicable laboratory testing regulations.
Working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles and in-depth knowledge of company-specific program requirements.
