Night - 7p-7:
30a Must haves:
-CA RN License -BLS, ACLS, and NRP provider card A -Advance AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.
Responsibilities:
Monitors labor and fetal wellbeing and contractions and helps patient with breathing techniques.
Checks patient's cervix periodically to monitor progression/lack of dilation.
Consistently applies knowledge of hemodynamics and of AWHOON fetal nomenclature for Category I, II, and III and recognizes when fetus is in distress.
Manages IV infusions for patients on Pitocin, MgSO4 and continuous lumbar epidural, and frequently assesses patient's response.
Contacts anesthesia when/if patient is ready for epidural; ascertains proper time and contacts delivering physician at appropriate time.
Provides immediate care of newborn (clean, weigh, etc.
) Assigns Apgar score.
