Supervisor, Patient Access Svcs

The ED Supervisor of Patient Access Services is responsible for demonstrated customer service excellence, serves as an instructor/mentor to Patient Access Services / including PBX staff, understands and demonstrates independence in day to day Patient Access Services / PBX operations, provides Managers with recommendations for PAs and progressive discipline. In this role, the ED Supervisor is responsible for department activities during his/her shift, including employee performance. Operational responsibilities include: registration, up-front cash collection, insurance eligibility, authorization, financial counseling and administrative functions. The Supervisor I must demonstrate prioritization, initiative and excellent attention to detail. The ED Supervisor must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team. As the patient makes their initial contact with the organization, via Patient Access Services, the ED Supervisor will act as the patient's advocate/ambassador to establish an excellent first impression of the organization and to meet the patient's service expectations. Experience: Two years experience at a supervisory level position in an acute care hospital, or other business. Working knowledge of hospital organization, structure and interrelationships. Working knowledge of hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the activities and personnel involved within the departmental areas. Education: Minimum High School graduate or equivalency.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
