About the role:
Responsible for building, expanding, and optimizing our data lake, data pipeline, and analytics architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and data collection for cross functional teams.
Will support R&D and Data Research teams on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
Must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
Your responsibilities include:
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of data engineering to resolve complex issues in creative ways
- Build AWS infrastructure for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from different sources at a variety of scales and velocities
- Build and maintain deployment tools and processes including infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
- Improve our internal processes and data flows through optimization and scalable design
- Actively stay up to date with new tools, techniques, and best practices
- Work with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into tested solutions
- Collaborate with data scientists to optimize our products and innovate in new areas
- Build interactive dashboards monitoring the health and security of data pipelines
- Keep our data separated, secure, and compliant across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions, following Cloud Security best practices
What we re looking for:
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in computer science or related
- 5
years of experience working on teams building data pipelines and architectures at a variety of scales and velocities - Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services and tools such as:
EMR, Glue, Lake Formation, VPC, ECS, AWS CLI/SDK, etc.
- Infrastructure deployment and code management tools:
Git, Terraform etc.
- Extensive demonstrated experience with Python development
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment using Agile processes and tools.
- Experience with deployment and support of data products in full production including dashboards
- Demonstrated ability to work with remote and distributed teams
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Medical device or regulated industry experience
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and familiarity with a variety of SQL and No-SQL databases
- Analytical/visualization tools:
AWS QuickSight, Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
